I am trying to get back into the groove of blogging. I want to go back to the birth of Rozlyn, quite a daunting task, which is why I have not yet attempted. For right now though I think I will just post pics of our most recent adventures at Red Rock and Valley of Fire.
The first pictures are from Red Rock. We did the La Madre Springs hike since it stated that a lot of wildlife could be seen by the springs. Well we did not see anything...but as we were leaving we spotted 5 foxes wandering around the picnic tables. You can see the back of one here. Next time we will skip the hike and sit at a picnic table:)
The hike took us around this large mountain of rock, very beautiful. We were able to try out our new baby backpack. Rozlyn loved it!!! (Who wouldn't?!?!):
The spring...it was a long hike for such a little spring & no wildlife. We told ourselves it was good exercise:)
Last weekend we went to Nevada State Park Valley of Fire. It was a perfect day! The weather was fabulous. All of the hikes there were not too strenuous...perfect for carrying a baby around.
There were lots of fun rocks to climb around. We decided this could be our home.
Interesting factoid: they actually filmed many of the Star Trek shows at Valley of Fire.

They had some amazing petroglyphs and they were all over!!! In this one you can see an atlatl-a weapon used to throw spears:
Valley of Fire is 1 hour north of Vegas. It is out in the middle of nowhere. Really interesting to randomly have a valley of red rocks.
